Patti Smith presents her new album "Banga" in New York

Patti Smith presents her eleventh album in New York after spending eight years in relative silence and have written, in 2010, a memoir book called "Just Kids" which was awarded the National Book Award in America.

Her followers awaiting eagerly her return to music and it has. Patti Smith was presented with a new album under their belt entitled "Banga" with a total of nine songs converted in some way, in nine biographies.

The album title is inspired by a character in the book "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov the Russian writer, who Patti decided to write a song after being seduced by his work which is considered one of the great novels of the twentieth century.

Following the inspiration for making her new album, Patti said that travel was one of them physically, but also explained that "mental travel is very important". The spirit of the 60's ever-present.
 
The new album by the godmother of punk, draw portraits of various characters who have died for various reasons which marked the singer, including the photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, actress Maria Schneider, the singer, who died recently, Amy Winehouse and the Russian novelist Nikolai Gogol.

I'm not a very analytical person. do not think much in depth about how or why. I have time. only produce".
 
One of the surprises to be found on the disk is the special collaboration of actor Johnny Depp in the title track to the new musical work, "Banga".
 
Smith says she called the actor with the idea for the song "Banga" while he was filming "The Rum Diary". He sang the song and recorded a capella a subject line. "Johnny told me he was going to send me, I can not forget." The singer said, adding: "I was waiting and waiting but did not send me anything! I said, 'Where's Johnny Banga?" He said 'I have?. When I finally arrived, he had drums, guitars, everything! The first minute of the song is all mine and Johnny Depp.".

After the talk, Patti Smith provided a powerful sound with his band that included three songs: "This is the girl", a tribute to Amy Winehouse, "April Fool" and "Banga", which were well received by people.
