Valerie Harper says she has terminal brain cancer

TV icon actress Valerie Harper, best known for her role as Rhoda on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", has revealed at People Magazine that she has terminal brain cancer. She only got three months to live.

People magazine reported Wednesday that Harper was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer on Jan. 15. This type of cancer has a specific name específicamente leptomeningeal carcinomatosis.

It may occur at any stage in the neoplastic disease, either as the presenting sign or as a late complication, though it is associated frequently with relapse of cancer elsewhere in the body. 

As a cancer survivor in 2009, Harper has been committed to staying optimistic. A month ago spoke with Yahoo! Health in which the actress said optimistically: "I’m of the thinking that we’re all terminal; no one is getting out of this alive", she said. "So you shouldn’t start sitting Shiva before it’s time. Live the best life you can. Be as healthy as possible".

In her quest to maintain the serenity and optimism both for herself and for her family and her followers, Valerie told People: "I do not think of dying" and she added "I think of being here now".

Harper started out on Broadway and rose to fame in the 1970s starring as Rhoda Morgenstern on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", issued in the 70's in the American television network CBS, which series  made ​​her extremely famous in the world of American television.
