Joaquin Phoenix: "The awards are bullshit"

http://www.beautyandthedirt.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/joaquin.jpgPuerto Rican actor Joaquin Phoenix, star of one of the films nominated for the Oscar 2013, has again exposing rude and vulgar character in an interview with Interview magazine in which makes it clear that he says goodbye to any prize that everybody can give him in any movie that he plays.

The protagonist of "The Master", one of the films nominated for the Oscar 2013 begins dropping hints, especially, to the organization of the ceremony to not nominate any of the categories but is doing a disservice to the film and its director, Paul Thomas Anderson, and the actors who make up the cast of the film.

Joaquin Phoenix is not a bad actor, on the contrary. Otherwise it would not have been nominated twice for an Oscar for his role in Hollywood movies like "Gladiator", which was nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actor, and "Walk the Line" as best Actor. But this guy's mouth is very loose and this time he did not want to be around the time of speaking in an interview with Interview magazine.

When asked about the possibility of winning a prize this year, Phoenix gave vent to his thoughts and said: "I’m just saying that I think it’s bullshit. I think it’s total, utter bullshit,  and I don’t want to be a part of it. I don’t believe in it….It’s the stupidest thing in the whole world. It was one of the most uncomfortable periods of my life when ‘Walk the Line’ was going through all the awards stuff and all that. I never want to have that experience again."

Not the first time that Joaquin Phoenix is behaving this way, this time has been verbally but others have been precisely for their actions. All we remember at the press conference he gave at the Venice Film Festival as well as sit a meter away from the microphone and not wear headphones to listen to the questions that were not in English, Joaquin Phoenix answered the questions with monosyllables or simple indifference to the journalists who were there. Halfway through the interview the actor left the table to appear a minute later with an ashtray, had gone with a lit cigar, and continue with the press conference, although he had left them all with the word in the mouth .

What we do not know is whether academics will think twice before nominating the actor, or maybe include it in any category of the golden statuettes and then give him nothing. The other question is if the actor will appear in the Oscars or finish h will watch it from a comfortable sofa from his home and smoking a cigar.
