Marcia Wallace, Edna Krabappel on "The Simpsons", dies of cancer

Marcia Wallace, dubber actress of Edna Krabappel at The Simpsons, has died from breast cancer that she had been fighting against almost 30 years. As a sign of respect for Wallace, Fox Television removed the teacher from the series.

Al Jean, producer of "The Simpsons" has been in charge of issuing a statement confirming the terrible news: "I was tremendously saddened to learn this morning of the passing of the brilliant and gracious Marcia Wallace. She was beloved by all at The Simpsons" . In the same statement, Jean has said that Edna Krabappel won't be dubbed by another actress and the character will disappear from the series with the death of Wallace. "She was loved by all and we intend to retire her irreplaceable character."
