John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John get together to record an album 34 years later

The American actor John Travolta and Australian Olivia Newton-John reunited after nearly 35 years to record an album of Christmas songs and whose voices will join the other stars of the song.

Do not panic, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John will not have to go back to school to film a sequel to "Grease", but they have taken almost 35 years for the two actors meet again to join voices for a new album. This time will be a disc of Christmas songs and for a very good cause.

We are approaching the dreaded Christmas albums that every year dozens of artists publish always singing the same songs and both actors did not want to be less. Through a statement both players got the news of the recording of the album titled "This Christmas" which will be released on 13 November and want to get close, too soon, as mentioned the Christmas season.

But in this new project they will not be alone though the main characters are the two actors. These will have the company of such great artists as Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Chick Corea, Kenny G and Cliff Richard.

For the nostalgic teen rockabillie film of late 70's, into the disc will have a nod to the title track of the soundtrack of the film. The Christmas album included the song "I Think You Might Like It", which could be considered a sequel to the hit "You're the One That I Want" which, by coincidences of life, was written by the same author who has written Christmas-themed too, John Farrar. We do not think we see Travolta and Newton-John as teenagers dancing beside the fireplace and Christmas tree.

Both are very happy with the result and excited to have been reunited to record the album and soak up the Christmas spirit. John Travolta says: "My intention is to make 'This Christmas' intimate album, something not too flashy. Want people to be willing to listen to their homes or their cars during the holidays, and make us part of your celebrations." Olivia Newton-John remeber the hard work they had to do to be able to record all the songs because of the busy schedules of these two as both of the other artists.

The album was produced by Universal Music Enterprises and will be on sale at the price of 10.83 euros ($14.00), a bargain for the times. Furthermore, all the proceeds from the sale of this album will go to two charities of which both are the main responsible, Jett Travolta Foundation and Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne.
