Spielberg says that Peter Jackson will direct the sequel to "The Adventures of Tintin"

Not that the film "The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn" have been successful at the box office, especially in America, but the numbers have been good for Steven Spielberg for the follow-up sequels. The director gives way in the direction of Peter Jackson, and told the Total Film website has further information about it.

Steven Spielberg said that Peter Jackson will begin preparing the sequel once finished post-production work of another Hollywood blockbuster such as "The Hobbit". Spielberg said: "Peter’s doing it. I wanted to do it, but Peter has to because we made a deal. I said, ‘I’ll direct the first one, you direct the second one. (...) and Peter, of course, is going to do it right after he finishes photography on The Hobbit. He’ll go right into the 31, 21 days of performance capture."

"The Calculus Affair" is the eighteenth book in the series about the adventures of Tintin, considered one of the best by connoisseurs of the character. 

The previous film was based on three comics of Hergé: "The Secret of the Unicorn", "The Crab with the Golden Claws" and "Red Rackham's treasure."

"The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn" will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray on March 19, 2012.
